David is results
oriented and has a strong sense of urgency for improving his game. If an
instructor mentions that several changes need to be made, David will want
to move from point to point fairly quickly. He is not interested in lengthy
technical and theoretical discussions. David likes to
understand the big picture - he wants to know the end result he's working
to achieve. When instructors suggest changes, they also need to explain the
result the change is supposed to achieve.
David will have more patience for making changes if he knows the end
result he's working towards. David will embrace
unusual drills and other approaches that golfers with more conservative
learning styles might be hesitant to try. He will also expect to see
progress quicker than more patient and conservative students will.
Instructors need to let him know when he is making progress even if the
progress is coming in incremental steps. David gets the most
out of his time with instructors when he relaxes before the actual
instruction begins. Taking a few minutes for some stretching and deep
breathing will help him relax and be ready to focus on the objectives of
the lesson. Quick Tips For David's Instructors Are Below ·
